Alan Sands

Alan Sands has been doing Corporate Entertainment and Performing his comedy hypnosis show at fairs, colleges and festivals for 13 years. This Comedy Hypnotist has been an entertainer all his life. The SandMan started honing his skills as a hypnotic entertainer at Stanford University Rush Parties when he returned from a tour as a magician in South Africa in the early 1990's. He then continued performing at other California colleges, high school post prom and grad night parties, but his entertainment career stared much earlier.

Alan Sands is a third generation entertainer. Alan's grandfather was a magician; Alan's mother was a ventriloquist; his father, George Sands, was a famous author of seventeen books on magic, ESP, and balloon animal sculpturing. Alan's older sister, Robin Sands-Fife, owns and operates a very successful talent agency in the San Francisco Bay Area, All Star Showgrams. The family tradition continues; Robin's oldest daughter, Ashlee Fife, is currently rehearsing in NYC for a part in the soon to open Broadway Musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, is one of Radio City Husic Hall's Rockettes and has a long list of off Broadway credits.

Raised in the famous Catskill Mountain resorts of upstate New York, Alan's father raised him among New York's inner circle of professional variety artists and comedians, where Alan learned their styles, techniques and secrets.

Alan began seriously practicing close-up magic at the age of six and won his first talent contest at age 12.

Throughout his teen years, Alan operated sound and lights for celebrities performing at the resorts while he began seasoning his act. Alan was performing magic seriously and profession by the time he was 17 and in high school he began doing hypnosis at parties.

Alan created his character Balloondini at age 19 and worked his way through college performing in the shopping malls of Fisherman's Wharf at the Cannery and Pier 39 where he polished his skills and perfected his ability to make people laugh. Alan began touring doing fairs internationally full time in 1984.

Since then, Alan has developed four sperate acts: his hypnosis show, his comedy magic show, his eccentric balloon act and his OlymPicnic Games, that have brought him around the world performing for celebrities, fortune 500 companies and international dignitaries.

In 1997, Alan Sands became a clinically trained, certified Master Hypnotist.
