JT Snow and his wife Stacie reside in San Mateo, CA with their son Shane (December 16, 1997)...J.T. is a 1987 graduate of Los Alamitos (CA) High School, where he lettered in baseball, football and basketball...earned All-League and All-CIF honors in all 3 sports...was a high school teammate of former Giants closer Robb Nen...played 3 seasons (1987-89) at the University of Arizona...as a junior, led the club in hitting (.359) and was named to the All-Pac 10 club...holds school record in career putouts (1,651)...played with future major leaguers Scott Erickson and Trevor Hoffman on the 1989 Pac 10 champion club...appeared as an extra on the television series "ER" during the 1994 offseason...is the son of the late Jack Snow, former Notre Dame All-America wide receiver who played 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams...J.T.'s brother-in-law is Rex Peters, the head baseball coach at UC Davis.
J.T. IN THE COMMUNITY: J.T. has been a community leader throughout his distinguished major league career...since the start of the 2000 season, he purchased the equivalent of 25 tickets to each home game at San Francisco's SBC Park to be used by cancer patients and underprivileged groups...recipients sat in a special section called the "Snow Pack"...as part of the "Snow Pack" program, he invited children who have been inflicted by cancer and their families to the ballpark each Sunday for a pre-game visit in the Giants dugout...also supported Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in an awareness day at SBC Park...for the last 4 seasons, was a spokesperson for Pets in Need, the first private no-kill adoption center serving the Bay Area...has filmed a PSA to raise awareness on the issue of domestic violence...also filmed a PSA for the Giants Community Fund Glove Drive, which brings in thousands of new and used gloves for the Junior Giants program...served as a spokesperson for the 2004 Prostate Cancer Foundation campaign...in 2003, participated in Giants wives' post-game auction and clinic to raise money for Junior Giants and Comfort for Kids, which provides specialized medical care to children throughout the Bay Area facing a life-threatening illness...participated in the Giants' first-ever holiday party at SBC Park in December 2001, taking more than 150 homeless children on a shopping spree at the Giants Dugout Store...has adopted the American Cancer Society as his charity...as a spokesperson for the non-profit group, he also provides support and encouragement to thousands of cancer patients when Giants host annual American Cancer Society Day...makes donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of receiving payments for autographs...in 2000, participated in school attendance challenge with several Bay Area middle schools, appearing at an assembly for the school who saw the greatest positive change in attendance...is a team spokesman for CapCure, a program designed to increase awareness of, and find a cure for, prostate cancer...was one of 3 transit ambassadors, filming a PSA for Giants public transit program...was named the Giants 1998 Roberto Clemente Man of the Year...donated spring training fielding clinic to Giants' on-line tsunami relief efforts, raising more than $25,000 to aid those affected by the tragedy.
