Danny Memphis was born and raised
in Memphis,Tennessee, the birthplace of rock and roll and the city that Elvis
loved. Danny's father was the line
manager at Memphis Aero Corporation where Elvis stationed his aircraft the Lisa
Marie and the Houndog. At age 19, Danny
and his legendary band Savage won a talent contest at the famed (Overton Park
Shell )where Elvis at age 19, made his first big public appearance and his famous
leg shaking first happened. Scotty Moore, Elvis' guitar player, said of Elvis'
nervousness " His knees were knocking so loud you could almost hear them".
Danny's musical interests are immense
but his heart is in the music that came out of his hometown. Danny
has said " The music that came out of Memphis changed the world and is some
of the best ever recorded. Rhythm and Blues, Rockabilly, Gospel, Soul, Rock and
Roll and Country still echo through her streets". Danny
in the near future will record a collection of original music including "
My Heart Still Lives In Memphis". Danny
is back ready to create great music and has gathered some of the most talented
musicians in Los Angeles to form his band Danny
Memphis and The Extraordinaires with influence from the greatest
