The Joint Chiefs are one of the most versatile and exciting young bands currently performing in the Northern California blues and R&B scene.
Since their inception in 1990, the Joint Chiefs have built a loyal following based on their live performances as well as their wide range of styles and influences.
Steeped in the rich tradition of the blues, their sound fuses elements of funk, acid jazz and classic R&B with their own signature groove. The result is high-energy danceable urban swing.
The Joint Chiefs finished as first runner up in the 1992 JJ's Blues Band Search and they were nominated in the best band category of the 1993 South bay Blues Awards. Don Caruth was nominated as 1992's best guitarist and Bill Biala was honored with both 1991 and 1992 nominations as best saxophonist in the South Bay Blues Awards.
The Joint Chiefs have amassed an impressive resume of performances and are proud to announce the release of their first CD, In Session capturing the vibes and energy of their live performances. One listen to this CD proves that this band can deliver the goods on disk as well as on-stage.
